One of a Kind Denver Theater Experience to be Major 2008 Fundraiser for SHO
This summer, SHO’s historic Barth Hotel will be the setting for performances of the award winning play, The HOT L Baltimore. One of the major fundraising efforts of 2008, the play will be presented in 18 performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights July 17th through August 23rd at 8:30 pm.
“The community support for this event is gratifying,” said Teri Whelan, Executive Director at SHO. “We are particularly pleased that as part of the production, each performance will include a cameo appearance by a notable Colorado resident. Each is willing to take the stage for us in order to show support for what we do here.”
This award winning play written by Lanford Wilson, is a one of a kind Denver theater experience. Directed by Denver’s Terry Dodd and using the Barth Hotel’s existing furniture, fixtures and lighting as part of the stage, this production stretches the boundaries between daily living and a performance set. The funny and sentimental script tells the story of a group of lost souls – retired older people, misfits and prostitutes -- who inhabit the one-elegant hotel. Performance tickets for this event will be available this spring. For more information call us at 303-595-4464 x 10.
SHO Thanks Community Members for Their Support During the Holidays

The Division of Housing, LoDo Neighborhood Association and Trinity Methodist Church each played Santa, providing gifts that residents requested at our Park Hill, Barth and Olin residences. LoDo's own Lannie Garrett performed at the Barth and the LoDo Rotary began the season with a lunchtime Christmas Tree decorating party in place of one of their regular meetings. And LoDo Cares, joined in the festivities as well, organizing top LoDo chefs to provide a holiday meal for Barth Hotel Residents.
SHO wishes to express its gratitude to the many individuals and groups brought cheer to Senior housing Options residents this holiday season. Their efforts truly made a difference to staff and
